--Bob Robertson was superior sports broadcaster. Over the
years he was complimented by or saddled with color commentators. Bob did not
need an on-the-air radio broadcast companion. He could do play-by-play and
color by himself. He was best by himself.
--His signature end of broadcast closer was, “Always be a good sport, be a good sport all
ways.” For many (all?) of those closers, he added “So long.” “So long” as in goodbye
until the next Cougar game broadcast.
Playing off of those two words.
We who love the Cougars love Bob Robertson. We had him on the air for us “so
long.” As long as it was, it was too short.
